Salaries in Ukraine – an expert spoke about the slowdown in the Ukrainian economy – UNIAN
According to the specialist, the growth of the Ukrainian economy is slowing down.
Compared to last year, the average salary of Ukrainians increased by 4 thousand hryvnia, or 22.3%, to 21,946 hryvnia. However, almost half of the growth is “eaten up” by inflation. Vladimir Landa, an economist at the Center for Economic Strategy (CES), stated this on Ukrainian radio.
“This 22% is nominal growth. Let’s calculate inflation from here. The official inflation rate is 9.7%,” says the specialist.
The expert added that the growth of the Ukrainian economy is slowing down. In October it was only slightly more than 1%, while in the first part of the year the increase was more significant.
“In the first 10 months, economic growth is 4.2%,” says Vladimir Landa.
