The lost tomb of Cleopatra – an archaeologist made a discovery — Science and IT
Cleopatra VII is the last active ruler. She came from the Ptolemaic dynasty, was a descendant of its founder Ptolemy I Soter, a Macedonian commander and associate of Alexander the Great.
An archaeologist searching for the long-lost tomb of Cleopatra VII has made an “important” discovery at what is believed to be the legendary queen's final resting place.
The details were told in the Daily Mail publication.
Kathleen Martinez, who spent nearly two decades searching for the tomb, found a statue that may represent the true face of Cleopatra, who ruled from 51 to 30 BC.
The white marble statue, from which only the head has survived, depicts a woman with small facial features: a small nose, plump lips and braided hair.
