Doctors in Thailand have begun warning against neck-twisting massage after the tragic death of Ping Chayada, a young woman from Udon Thani who reportedly died from complications related to neck massage sessions she received at a studio in her hometown.

According to Ping's mother, she felt pain in her shoulder several months ago, and instead of going to the hospital, she decided to visit a local massage studio. She had always loved massages, so she thought this would be a good way to ease the pain.
