Putin did not release Syrian mercenaries in Ukraine to defend the Assad regime,
Assad asked Putin to provide him with military assistance.
Russian ruler Vladimir Putin did not help his ally dictator Bashar al-Assad during the offensive of rebel forces in his country. Thus, the head of the Kremlin did not even release Syrian mercenaries to help the regular army of Syria.
According to the Center for National Resistance, Assad appealed to Putin with a request to release the Syrians participating in the war in Ukraine, as well as to provide military assistance. The head of the Russian Federation refused his ally and actually lost Syria.
The CNS recalled that this is not the first time Putin has betrayed his “allies” in order to achieve at least some success at the front in Ukraine. Previously, he did not come to the aid of Armenia, since all combat-ready Russian units are on the battlefield for the sake of the Kremlin’s aggressive ambitions.
