In the final match of the tournament in Chiang Mai (Thailand), Khabibullaev defeated the Chinese Wang Jinxiang by split decision (4:1), adding to Uzbekistan’s “golden” piggy bank at the 2024 Championship.
20-year-old Turabek Khabibullaev is the 2022 world junior champion, as well as a bronze medalist at the Asian Games in Hangzhou. At the 2024 Olympics in Paris, Khabibullaev created a sensation by defeating the winner of the Olympic and Asian Games, World and Asian Championships, Filipino Eumir Felix Martial.
