Deadly FPV drones have become a nightmare for both sides in the Russian-Ukrainian war. Both the Russians and Ukrainians are actively looking for an opportunity to provide infantry with small arms that could cheaply and reliably shoot down drones. But so far there are no results, writes Defense News.
Sam Bendett, an adviser to the Washington-based Center for Naval Analysis, notes that electronic warfare (EW) systems do not really solve the problem of neutralizing drones. These systems are few, they cannot work around the clock, and they simply cannot always silence the drone, even if they are turned on.
That is why soldiers on both sides of the front line are trying to search with their own hands…
