Ukraine will remain without LendLease: the US Congress has approved defense spending


The Embassy of Ukraine in the USA continues to actively work to preserve the lendlease mechanism. The next step should be the approval of the law in the Senate.

The US House of Representatives passed the 2025 National Defense Appropriations Act (NDAA), which lacks a provision to extend the Lend-Lease Act to protect democracy in Ukraine.

Oksana Markarova, Ambassador of Ukraine to the USA, informed about this.

As Markarova explained, in 2024, the NDAA bill approved by the Senate contained provisions on extending the validity of the Lend-Lease Law. The Embassy of Ukraine in the USA actively advocated for him, but the draft law approved by the House of Representatives did not contain such a provision.
