The poverty level did not increase in two regions of Ukraine: what is known — Ukraine
Poverty has increased in other regions of Ukraine.
Zakarpattia and Chernivtsi regions became the only regions in Ukraine where the poverty level remained unchanged compared to 2021.
This was reported by Lyudmila Cherenko, head of the Department of Population Living Standards Research at the Institute of Demography and Social Research, in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
“These are two regions that were conditionally unaffected by the war precisely in the context of the scale of poverty,” Cherenko noted.
She explained that poverty has increased in other regions, especially in the northern regions, such as Chernihiv and Sumy regions. At the same time, the economist noted that the poverty level increased less significantly in Kyiv, Kharkiv and Dnipro.
