In the Odessa region, a 13-year-old teenager posthumously gave a second chance at life to five people. His parents agreed to the donation after the child was declared brain dead.
“On November 28, a 13-year-old boy from the Odessa region was hospitalized in the Zakharovsk hospital with acute cerebrovascular accident. On December 4, doctors diagnosed brain death. After a difficult decision, his parents agreed to the donation,” the Odessa regional state administration said.
The long-awaited transplantation was performed on five recipients:
- lungs were transplanted to a 35-year-old mother of five children from the Nikolaev region;
- An 8-year-old boy from Dnepropetrovsk received the heart…
