Strikes on the Ukrainian energy industry: analysts explained the purpose of the Russians
The occupiers want to force Ukraine and the West to make political decisions beneficial to Russia.
New strikes by the Russian Federation on Ukrainian energy are part of a broader campaign. It is aimed at immersion of Ukraine in the cold of this winter.

Analysts note that Russia has repeatedly attacked Ukraine's infrastructure in the fall and winter since the start of a full-scale invasion in 2022. In particular, the Russian Federation recently carried out large-scale attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure, namely on November 16-17 and 25-26.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation said on December 13 that Russian forces had struck in response to the Ukrainian attack on Taganrog, Rostov region on December 11, during which the American long-range ATACMS missiles provided by the West were used.
