The South Korean parliament supported the impeachment of the president — World

The Constitutional Court has 180 days to make a final decision.

The South Korean parliament passed a bill to impeach President Yoon Seok-yeol.

This was reported by KBS News and Yonhap.

204 parliamentarians voted for impeachment, 85 against, and three abstained. Although most members of the ruling People Power Party (People Power Party), to which Yoon Seok-yeol belongs, refused to participate in the vote, this did not prevent the decision.

This was the second attempt to impeach the president. The first vote ended unsuccessfully, because most of the deputies of the ruling party left the meeting hall and did not vote.

According to the procedure, Yoon Seok Yeol should now be suspended from his position. At this time, his duties will be performed by Prime Minister Han Dok-soo. Meanwhile, the Constitutional Court must decide within 180 days…
