Alexander Lutsenko received a new position, and another top military man was appointed in his place.
The military leadership of Ukraine fired the commander of operations in the Donetsk region amid the difficult situation at the front. This was reported by a source to the Financial Times.
Alexander Lutsenko, who led the Donetsk operational-tactical group of troops, was removed from his post after the Defense Forces under his command were unable to stop the Russian offensive. Over the past month, Russia has seized territory roughly half the size of London.
“Lutsenko received a new position in the Ground Forces, and Brigadier General Alexander Tarnavsky was appointed in his place,” the publication writes.
