In Texas, parents of children in court accuse an artificial intelligence developer of the fact that a chatbot caused psychological trauma to their minor children, in particular, made them aggressive, cruel, and influenced their sexual behavior. Ars Technica writes about this.
The lawsuit was filed in particular by the family of a 17-year-old boy with high-functioning autism who used chatbots from Character Technologies. Over the few months he spent with them, the guy began to rapidly lose weight, refused to eat, and spent most of his time hiding in his room. According to the lawsuit, he experienced extreme emotional distress and panic attacks.
