Sholtz made another statement – news 1+1 – Ukraine
Olaf Scholz believes that supplying Ukraine with long-range weapons would be a mistake.
Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz believes that it would be a mistake to supply Ukraine with long-range weapons, or to allow strikes deep into Russian territory.
As “European Truth” reports, the German Chancellor's statement is cited by n-tv.
Scholz emphasized that under his leadership, Germany became the second largest military supporter of Ukraine.
“However, I am still convinced that it would be a mistake if the weapons we provided to Ukraine were used to strike deep into the Russian Federation, or if we supplied weapons capable of doing just that,” he said.
According to Sholtz, it is necessary “at any cost” to prevent a conflict between the Russian Federation and NATO.
“And if no one, except for us, has the strength of mind necessary to make balanced decisions, then so be it,” he added.
