Meike Geurts and Tibor Strauss spent 350,000 euros to buy the ghost village, which has 62 houses. Now they spend a lot of time restoring these buildings. The village of Bárcena de Bureba was abandoned back in the 1970s, and now there are only stone boxes instead of houses.
