“It will start on December 16 and will last for two weeks in a row”: Vilfand gave an unexpected forecast

The head of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, Roman Vilfand, spoke about the upcoming period, which will begin on December 16 and will last about two weeks. After this, a new stage in weather conditions will begin.
The changes will affect the regions of the Urals and a significant part of the country. Significant warming is expected, peaking by midweek. In Yekaterinburg the temperature will drop to -5 degrees, and in Chelyabinsk it will rise to -2 degrees.
The period of relatively comfortable weather for December will last two weeks, after which severe frosts will set in. Temperatures will drop to -29 degrees during the day and -33-35 degrees at night.
Snowfalls and abnormally high snowdrifts in Moscow are expected in the central part of Russia.
