Information about Matveev’s death was unexpected.
Russia did not inform Ukraine about the death in captivity of the mayor of the temporarily occupied city of Dneprorudnoye, Zaporozhye region, Evgeniy Matveev.
As Ukrinform writes, Verkhovna Rada's plenipotentiary for human rights, Dmitry Lubinets, told a briefing that the death of the mayor became known during the identification of the bodies.
