According to journalist and insider Lance Pugmire, the next opponent of the WBA world middleweight champion, a Cuban living in the USA Erislandy Lara (31-3-3, 19 KOs) may become his compatriot Yoenlis Hernandez (6-0, 6 KOs), Sports.kz reports.
As Pugmire wrote on social network X, Hernandez’s team made a request to be recognized as Lara’s mandatory challenger. Yoenlis is currently ranked number one in the WBA middleweight rankings. As an amateur, Hernandez won gold at the world championships twice – in 2021 and 2023. He has been playing professionally since 2022.
