Hypertensive patients urged to give up one popular New Year's salad – Nutrition
Gastroenterologist at the Euroonko clinic, candidate of medical sciences Vladimir Loginov warned that some popular New Year's dishes may be unhealthy, Sports.kz reports with reference to Lenta.ru.
According to the doctor, Olivier salad and herring under a fur coat can cause digestive problems, and they are also too high in calories: one serving of the first salad can contain up to 500 calories, and the second – up to 600 calories.
In addition, Olivier may cause discomfort, especially in people with a sensitive stomach, gastritis or pancreatitis. Herring under a fur coat can provoke fluid retention in the body, since the fish contains a lot of salt, Loginov explained. He urged hypertensive patients to avoid this dish, as it has a negative effect on the cardiovascular system and can provoke an increase in blood pressure.
