China showed tests of a mysterious hypersonic “plane” – UNIAN

The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) demonstrated the hypersonic flight of an MD series unmanned vehicle. This was reported by the South China Morning Post.

The video shows, in particular, the launch of one of these “airplanes” from a high-altitude balloon. The academy said it reached a speed of Mach 7 before making a successful landing.

Let us remind you that the new MD-22 was presented at the Zhuhai Air Show the year before last. It is positioned as a demonstrator and test platform for hypersonic technologies. In the future, they may be used for military purposes, such as reconnaissance.
