Fake websites of the “Army+” military application: CERT-UA warns of a new cyber attack


The scheme allows cybercriminals to control infected computers while remaining undetected.

The Government Computer Emergency Response Team of Ukraine, CERT-UA, warns of an active cyber attack targeting users of the “Army+” application for military personnel.

This was reported by the press service of the State Special Communications.

Criminals have created fake websites that imitate the official page of the application and offer to download the malicious file “ArmyPlusInstaller-v.0.10.23722.exe”.

When opening and running a file, the user unknowingly activates a program that gives attackers access to his computer. Malware during operation:

  • installs the program for incognito access;
  • generates digital keys for authorization in the system;
  • transmits confidential data to the attackers' server through the Tor network;
