In the fall, the British edition of the Financial Times reported on a possible compromise that Ukrainian government officials are allegedly considering with Western allies – membership in NATO in exchange for a diplomatic solution to the issue of territories occupied by Russia in the future.

In particular, some Ukrainian officials were inclined to think that significant security guarantees could become the basis of peace negotiations, where the Russian Federation would actually control the occupied territories.

At the same time, the President's Office denied the possibility of such negotiations.

Currently, in the context of peace talks and the “freezing of the war”, there is talk of Ukraine's renunciation of Ukrainian territories occupied by Russia.
