China is rapidly increasing its nuclear arsenal: Pentagon assessment – World
China is not changing its policy of “no first use” of nuclear forces.
China is actively increasing the number of nuclear warheads and by 2030 their number may reach 1,000 units. Over the past year, the country has developed at least 100 new warheads and currently has more than 600 in its arsenal.
This is stated in the Pentagon's annual report.
“Over the next decade, the PRC will likely continue to rapidly modernize, diversify, and expand its nuclear forces,” the US Department of Defense report said.
As of 2024, China has more than 600 nuclear warheads, and that number continues to grow. By 2030, the arsenal may exceed 1,000 units.
“According to the estimates of the Ministry of Defense, China will have more than 1,000 warheads by 2030, a significant part of which will be deployed at higher levels of readiness, and will continue to build up its forces until 2035,” -…
