She lived in a period when Christianity was not yet the official religion of the Roman Empire and was persecuted. Its history is connected with the events that took place in the III-IV century, during the reign of Emperor Maximian.

Juliana was a noble and sincere Christian believer who, according to various sources, came from a Roman family living in Asia Minor. She was betrothed to a rich and influential man named Felix, but she did not agree to this marriage, because her fiancé was a pagan, and Juliana wanted to remain faithful to Christ.
