Trump threatened to hit the EU with tariffs if the bloc does not fulfill his ultimatum
The president-elect has called fossil fuels “liquid gold.”
US President-elect Donald Trump said the European Union should buy American oil and gas to compensate for the “huge deficit” with the world's largest economy. If the bloc refuses, then new duties await it.
“I told the European Union that they must make up their huge deficit with the US through massive purchases of our oil and gas. Otherwise, only TARIFFS,” Trump said in a statement.
During the election campaign, Trump promised to increase oil drilling in the United States and called fossil fuels “liquid gold.”
