Change or perish: how the Armed Forces of Ukraine can avoid becoming a small double of the Soviet army
In Ukraine, they often like to mention the phrase that “a small Soviet army will never defeat a large Soviet army.” The authorities and the military command constantly repeat the phrase of the second president Kuchma on camera: “Ukraine is not Russia.” Accordingly, our army, according to them, should be the complete antithesis of the aggressor's army – with people-centeredness, technological development, professional command and zero tolerance for corruption.
Indeed, at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, against the background of long lines of volunteers to the TCC, a powerful volunteer movement and the hope that the “scoop” was finished once and for all, it seemed that we had a chance. Not only to survive, but also to change, become better and even overtake other countries that have never experienced a great war before.
