The conflict between the spouses began back in 2021.
A couple from the southern Indian state of Karnataka needed court intervention after a three-year dispute over their son's name. The fight became so unpleasant that the couple decided to divorce.

It all started in 2021, when a woman, whose name has not been given, gave birth to a boy and went to live with her parents for a few weeks. It is a common practice for women in India to move to their parents' home after giving birth to rest and recuperate. Usually the husband comes and takes the mother and the child home.
But when the 21-year-old woman refused to accept the name the man chose for their son, he became upset – and never came to take her back.
Instead, she chose the name Adi for her baby, which is made up of the first letter of her name and part of the name…
