NATO countries – Fico accused Zelensky of attempting to bribe – UNIAN
According to the Prime Minister of Slovakia, the President of Ukraine offered him money for agreeing to Kyiv’s accession to NATO.
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico accused Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky of attempting to bribe. Politico reports this.
According to Fico, after he told Zelensky that Slovakia would lose about 500 million euros on gas transit per year, the Ukrainian president allegedly asked him if he would vote for Ukraine's membership in NATO if he gave him 500 million euros of Russian assets.
“And, of course, I said never,” replied the head of the Slovak government.
Fico said Zelensky's proposals made to him behind closed doors were “absurd” and said Ukraine “dares to damage the economy of an EU member state.”
