Oreshnik rocket – threat of launch from the Kapustin Yar test site
The columnist urged Ukrainians not to let their guard down.
The Russians are using a simulated launch of the Oreshnik missile from the Kapustin Yar test site in the Astrakhan region as a cheaper way to exert psychological and economic pressure on Ukraine. Previously, to achieve a similar goal, the Russian Federation raised the MiG-31K, a carrier of the Kh-47M2 Kinzhal missiles. This opinion was expressed by military-political commentator Alexander Kovalenko.
“For some period of time this was regular and constant, but there is a nuance. Russia has less than a squadron of combat-ready MiG-31Ks, the service life of which is wearing out, and the Russian military-industrial complex is not capable of producing new MiG-31s.
