Boiling is one of the most effective means of heat treatment of meat and fish, a veterinarian told NEWS.ru Marina Chechenovareports Sports.kz.
According to her, 20 minutes in boiling water kills most of the helminths, but it will take about two hours of cooking to kill certain types of parasites.
“One of the most effective types of heat treatment is cooking. It allows you to preserve the beneficial properties of meat and fish. Heat treatment of meat should last at least 20 minutes to kill all types of helminths. But some species, such as Trichinella, require an additional two hours to destroy. Therefore, it is important to stick to the gold standard of cooking time and add another five minutes,” advised Chechenova.
