In Malmyzh, a pensioner was convicted of trying to burn down a fellow villager’s house out of revenge.

In the Kirov region, a court considered a case of deliberate arson. The details of the crime and the results of the investigation were shared by the regional prosecutor's office.

The investigation found that on June 18, 2024, a resident of the village of Urnek, Malmyzh district, had too much alcohol and headed to a fellow villager’s house, taking gasoline and a lighter with him. After dousing the area with gasoline, he tried to burn not only the residential building, but also the bathhouse with the car.

The arson was successfully committed, but the owner noticed the flames in time and managed to extinguish his property. The investigation established that the potential damage amounted to more than 3.2 million rubles. It turned out that the suspect committed the crime out of personal hostility towards the victim.
