A quick end or continued aid to Ukraine: what US citizens think about the war


Republicans support less US aid to Ukraine, while Democrats favor at least maintaining the current level of support.

US citizens are about equally divided on whether their country should continue to help Ukraine win back territory even in a protracted war (48%) or try to bring about a quick end to the conflict, even if it means Kyiv does not return all of its territory (50 %).

This is stated in the publication of the Gallup Research Institute based on the results of a survey conducted on December 4-15.

A small majority of Americans are in favor of a quick end to the war, even if Ukraine does not regain its territory. Such survey results mark a departure from previous readings, when the majority of US citizens supported Ukraine's struggle for complete victory.
