A new civilian profession – a deminer – has appeared in Ukraine. Now citizens will be able to participate in the demining of territories contaminated by explosive objects. Veterans with amputations can also become deminers.
This is stated in the story of TSN correspondent Halyna Kapustynska.
A team of 9 deminers has been working in the forest in the Kyiv region for a week and a half. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the invaders hid here, leaving behind the remnants of artillery and other dangerous objects.
“In March 2022, there was fighting here, there was the Russian army, they were here for a short time, a little less than a month, and then after a while we came here and started demining here. We use our metal detectors to detect metal signals that could potentially be explosive objects,” says…
