International Boxing Association (IBA) has launched an investigation into controversial refereeing decisions at the 2024 Asian Boxing Championships in Thailand – accusations relate to the bias of judges in fights involving Uzbek boxers, Sports.kz reports with reference to the Schrödinger Sports telegram channel.

One of the most discussed incidents was the final in the weight category up to 71 kg, where Uzbekistani Khavasbek Asadullayev bit Kazakhstani Abylaykhan Zhusupov, but this was not recorded by the referee. As a result, Asadullaev was disqualified, and Zhusupov was awarded a gold medal.
