An explosion occurred at an explosives factory in Turkey. According to CNN Turk, the emergency occurred in the northwestern province of Balikesir near the village of Karesi.
The explosion occurred in the production area, and not in the main building. As a result of the explosion, part of the building collapsed and a fire broke out. At least 12 people were reported killed and 5 others were injured. Research is ongoing to determine how many people were inside.
According to Interior Minister Ali Yerlikai, the possibility of sabotage has been ruled out and there is no risk of a new explosion.
