Kirov residents will be left without official fireworks on New Year's Eve

Kirov authorities discussed the city’s readiness to host New Year’s mass events. The details were shared at the regional government press center.

Governor Alexander Sokolov convened a joint meeting of the anti-terrorism commission and the operational headquarters. The main issue during the discussions was the readiness of law enforcement and other structures to ensure the safety of residents and guests of the New Year's capital of Russia.

Regional authorities emphasized that there are no plans to launch fireworks during public events on New Year's Eve. However, according to the governor, rescuers must mobilize all forces during the night peak of fireworks. Also, employees of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations were instructed to carefully inspect the places where pyrotechnics are sold, as well as the sites for their launch.
