Road accidents today – how many people died in road accidents in 2024 – UNIAN
Most often, people die in road accidents due to speed violations.
From January to November this year in Ukraine, 2,886 people were killed and 29,484 people were injured as a result of road accidents. UkrAvtoprom reports this with reference to data from the patrol police.
When compared with the same period in 2023, the number of accidents in which there were deaths and/or injuries increased by 9%.
The most common causes of death in road accidents were:
– Speed violation – 1608 people;
– Violation of maneuvering rules – 442 people;
– Pedestrian crossing in unspecified places – 148 people.
It is also reported that the greatest number of road accidents occur between 17:00 and 19:00, and the most dangerous day of the week is Friday.
