The Ministry of Health of the Kirov Region writes that the Traumatology Center actively uses 3D technologies.
In the fall of 2024, a 9-year-old girl with a congenital spinal anomaly was admitted to a medical facility. The patient suffered from third-degree scoliosis, a complete right-sided active hemivertebra. From birth, the girl developed a defect in which only one side of the vertebra develops.
The complex operation was performed by traumatologist-orthopedist Dmitry Kurdyumov, first deputy chairman of the regional government. The intervention was successful and the deformity was corrected. The hemivertebra was removed and a screw-rod system was installed. We made a 3D model of a fragment of the spine, which helped to thoroughly prepare for surgery.
Thanks to 3D models you can…
