Nikita Vasilenko, a professor at the Educational and Scientific Institute of Journalism of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, called the scandal that arose around his words about women a provocation.
In a comment to Suspilny, he called the phrase “hungry Ukrainian women” a literary expression and apologized for such wording. “But do you agree with the meaning? Do you think that based on this publication I am a sexist and that I should be fired from the university?” – Vasilenko added.
University rector Vladimir Bugrov said that soon the ethics commission will evaluate the professor’s behavior. If it is found inappropriate, Vasilenko will receive a second reprimand and be fired. Also, the contract with him may be terminated if the appropriate decision is made…
