Penalties for curfew violations


According to the lawyer, there is a risk that the new law may become convenient for corrupt officials.

Ukraine may impose penalties for curfew violators. The relevant draft law, the initiator of which is the Cabinet of Ministers, has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada, and this document is currently being processed in the parliament.

According to the proposed rules, violators are proposed to be fined UAH 850-1,700, for repeated curfew violations – from UAH 1,700 to UAH 3,400.

In addition, the draft law states that the Provisions on Punishment do not apply when a citizen, during the curfew after an air raid signal, goes to or returns from a shelter, provides medical or paramedical assistance, accompanies injured or seriously ill people, carries out measures to evacuate the population, or saving property, and in other cases related to…
