The EU provided Ukraine with EUR 150 million in grant aid: where will the funds go?


This is already the second tranche within the framework of the agreement between Ukraine and the EU in the amount of 300 million euros.

The European Union transferred to Ukraine the second tranche of grant aid in the amount of 150 million euros as part of the rapid recovery program.

This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.

These funds will be used for free meals for students in grades 1-4 (65 million euros), restoration of port infrastructure (50 million euros), support for agriculture (20 million euros) and restoration of critical infrastructure (15 million euros).

“We thank the EU countries and institutions for their important support for the reconstruction of our country, business assistance and providing comfortable living conditions for Ukrainians,” Shmyhal said.

It will be recalled that Ukraine received 1.1 billion dollars from the IMF.
