Lavrov made a statement about negotiations with Ukraine: what they want in the Kremlin
The minister claims that Moscow is “not walking away” from negotiations with Kyiv.
The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Serhii Lavrov, said that his country is not giving up on negotiations with Ukraine, but is waiting for “serious, concrete proposals”.
The minister said this in an interview with one of the Russian propaganda programs.
Lavrov said that Russia seems to want peace, but on its own terms, and “does not leave” negotiations.
“Moscow does not avoid negotiations on Ukrainian topics, but serious, concrete proposals must be made,” said the Russian minister.
The proposals of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, are not conditions for the beginning of a peaceful settlement.
Lavrov also stated that Russia has no illusions about easily achieving peace in Ukraine. Moscow will not agree to a truce, it needs legally binding agreements.
