According to the latest data, 38 people died in the plane crash.
The passenger plane Embraer 190 of Azerbaijan Airlines, which crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan, was shot down by a Russian air defense system. The head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council, Alexander Kovalenko, wrote about this.
He recalled that the plane was flying from Baku to Grozny.
“Russia should have closed the airspace over Grozny, but did not do so. The plane was damaged by the Russians and was sent to Kazakhstan, instead of being urgently landed in Grozny and saving people’s lives,” Kovalenko noted.
