Elmir Alimzhanov, Vadim Sharlaimov, Erlik Sertai Ruslan Kurbanov fought for medals in team competitions.
In the 1/16 finals, Kazakhstani epee fencers were stronger than Denmark, winning with a score of 31:30. In the next round, Kazakhstan won against Ukraine – 33:32.
In the quarterfinals, the Kazakh team lost to Hungary – 36:45.
Then, in the fight for 5-8 places, Kazakhstan was defeated by Switzerland 42:45. The domestic team competed with the Netherlands for seventh place. The confrontation ended with the victory of the Kazakh fencers – 45:40.
