Finnish authorities have detained an Eagle S oil tanker belonging to the shadowy Russian navy on suspicion of damaging the underwater electrical cable Estlink 2, which connects Finland to Estonia.

A ship carrying oil from Russia to Egypt under the flag of the Cook Islands was discovered in the Gulf of Finland when the cable was damaged. Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo confirmed that an investigation into the incident had been launched.
