Christmas rescue: police officers of the Lviv region helped an injured hawk
Unfortunately, the bird's wing will have to be amputated.
On Christmas Day, December 25, police officers of the community of Lviv region found an exhausted hawk, which was freezing on the side of the road near Lviv.
This was reported by the Lviv District Police Department.
Drivers who saw the injured predator contacted the police. The police quickly arrived at the scene and found a hawk with a broken wing and a damaged leg. The bird could die due to injuries and hypothermia.
“The law enforcement officers warmed up the bird and took it to the volunteers in an official car, where it was immediately examined by veterinarians. Unfortunately, the bird's wing will have to be amputated and it will no longer be able to return to the wild. Therefore, the aviary of the “Home of Rescued Animals” will become a home for the predator,” it is said in the message.
