In Nigeria, fighter jets mistakenly hit civilians. The incident left at least 10 people dead and several injured.
Reuters reports this. It is noted that the incident occurred in the northwestern state of Sokoto. The fighters pursued the bandits in two villages – Gidan-Sama and Rintuwa, state Governor Ahmed Aliyu said.
“The military aircraft were on a mission to eliminate criminal armed groups terrorizing the state and mistakenly bombed the innocent people of this community,” the governor said in a statement.
