Fine for sealing a meter – a strict housing and communal services norm since January

Homeowners pay for utilities according to meter readings, which must be sealed. Breaking the seal or interfering with their work is a violation of the law, remind Izvestia (18+).

In apartments, meters are installed to account for water, gas and electricity, which allows you to save on housing and communal services. The owner is obliged to monitor the serviceability of the device and transmit readings, and also prohibits dismantling and removing the seal.

If the device or seal is damaged, you must notify the management or resource supply company and apply for sealing. Utility workers must inspect the device and draw up a report, compare meter readings and receipts. If the data matches, utility workers will install a new seal.
