The grave of Pletenetsky was miraculously preserved.

The Orthodox Church of Ukraine canonized Elisey Pletenetsky, the vicar of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, who died 400 years ago, and is considered one of the greatest defenders of Ukrainian Orthodoxy.

TSN correspondent Oleksandr Zahorodny found out how the saint's grave was found, and why he built a paper factory near Kyiv.

What is known about Elisey Pletenetsky

Ukrainians have a new saint – Elisey Pletenetsky. He died 400 years ago, lived and worked in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. He was not only an archimandrite, but also a person who bought, moved and built a printing house here, which published books in the Old Ukrainian language. And he also helped the old, infirm, fed orphans.
