Yesterday it became known that the Russian occupiers damaged the dam of the Kurakhovskoye reservoir. Ecologist and ANTS Network expert Oleg Lystopad spoke on Hromadske Radio about whether this created a threat to the population and the environment.
The expert said that the Russians have been trying to attack the Kurakhovskoe reservoir for a long time. He explained this by the fact that an important road for Ukrainian logistics runs along the dam. However, he urged people not to panic.
“Yes, it’s unpleasant and there’s nothing good about it, but there’s no reason to panic. People immediately associate it with the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric station, but if we compare the volumes of the reservoirs, we see that Kurakhovskoye is much smaller,” Listopad shared.
